Your group can gather at Barranco too

Birthdays, shared meals, workshops, cinema, yoga, music—or an idea that does not have a name yet.

It does not need to be fully worked out. We can think it through together.

Barranco is an alternative cultural space in Mallasa: a garden, a house, views, a bar, bonfire, music, cinema, yoga, food, conversation, and people who arrive wanting to make something beautiful happen.

If you have already experienced something here and pictured your family, friends, collective, or community in the space, this page is a place to begin imagining it.

What can happen here

  • a shared meal, birthday, farewell, or welcome;
  • a workshop, practice, conversation, or creative lab;
  • yoga, movement, or wellbeing;
  • cinema outdoors or inside;
  • music, listening sessions, a DJ, or coordinated sound;
  • a new idea that does not have a name yet.

What “Barranco mode” means

We are not simply renting out a space and handing over a key. We imagine a more alive way of using it: with freedom, trust, and care.

How to begin

Tell us what you would like to do, when, how many people might come, and what you would need from Barranco.

Barranco works best when each group brings its own energy and cares for the place that welcomes it.

Cinema, music, food, conversation, or a simple practice can coexist with clear agreements.

“Barranco mode”

The simple rule is:

leave Barranco as we found it—or better.

Freedom works best when there are clear agreements about who welcomes people, what the gathering needs, how the place is cared for, and how everything is closed at the end.

Not everything has to be a large event. Sometimes the most Barranco thing is something simple, thoughtfully cared for, and fully lived.

How we think about costs

This is a living starting point: costs are shaped around each gathering.

Every gathering may need different things. Before confirming anything, we prefer to talk and prepare a proposal suited to the particular case.

Costs, deposits, or support may vary depending on:

  • the number of people;
  • time and duration;
  • use of the kitchen, bar, bathrooms, garden, hall, fire area, or other spaces;
  • sound, projector, lights, tables, chairs, or other equipment;
  • food, drinks, or bar service;
  • cleaning before or after;
  • support from someone at Barranco during the gathering;
  • how much preparation the space needs;
  • the condition in which everything is left at the end.

This helps the gathering work without leaving invisible costs for the space to carry.

If you have been here and want to return

If you already know Barranco and would like to return with your group, that is a good starting point—whether you came as a visitor, customer, workshop facilitator, artist, friend of the house, or part of a community.

With an initial idea, we can respond more clearly and shape a concrete proposal.

For larger gatherings

Barranco can also host larger gatherings: farewells, workshops, music, food, cinema, yoga, birthdays, or activations with more people. They simply need a little more structure.

In those cases, it helps to define:

  • the purpose of the gathering;
  • the estimated number of people;
  • setup, arrival, activity, and closing times;
  • technical needs;
  • who is responsible for food, the bar, cleaning, and closing;
  • whether communication is public or private;
  • the available budget;
  • the level of support expected from Barranco.

The clearer these points are, the easier it is to care for the experience without making it rigid.

A basic agreement

Barranco can open in many different ways, but we do not want the space to become an event machine. We want it to remain a place with life, trust, and memory.

That is why every gathering is discussed case by case. If the idea fits the place, we look for a way to make it happen. If it needs adjustments, we say so. If the timing is not right or it does not fit the space, we will say that clearly too.
